I searched. Couldn't find anything via the search. How difficult/costly is it? What is the process?

I've never heard of a car ferry. i guess you could ship in on Crowley or some one like that but I think renting a car on each island would be a better bet.

That doesn't mean there is not a car ferry just that I have never heard of one. If there is I sure would like to know.

I think you can put a car on the Norma H in Gallows bay to STT.

Hey Linda,
You can put a car on Norma H, but it only runs once a week. 2 years ago, it was $280 one way, plus you have to go to the Lt. Gov. Office for all the clearance and pay a fee, and that will be coming and going. Are you planning to bring over a car and then ship it back? Not cost effective IMHO.

What did you have in mind?? If you don't mind my asking.

really, interesting. I may be making sales calls in STX in the near future and it would be great to be able to take my car over for 2 weeks at a time. I will call them and get some info. Car is paid off so I can't imagine the Lt. Governor would charge me a fee for it except for the clearance letter maybe? Of course, cost may make it cheaper to rent a car while I am there.

Hi Pamela,

New job?? I don't think there is a fee, per se, just the usual " I gotta get mine"....but seems to me if you will be a regular on STX, you need an apartment, and a car and a couple of old friends......

Juanita,

Thanks for asking. Yes, I've gone to work (commission only but you take what you can get) for two companies - one I found right on this site. Remember promoguy? We got together on line and I am doing some work with him. Just signed on tonight with a NEW travel site. Obviously not going to discuss it here.

So between these, managing a charter yacht and doing some freelance stuff, am keeping body and soul together. Man, this is a tough market but I think I have found the right fits for me and the great thing is I work from home mostly.

Again, thanks for remembering that I have been searching for ages. I appreciate it.

Wow, what an absurd process. Disappointing to hear about. Seems to me that if I bring my clean VI title in (no lien) I should be able to move a car WITHIN the territory. Amazingly bad. Also the $560 R/T seems very high!

Heck, you can almost buy a beater for that! Drive it for a week and sell it for $500 and you are ahead of the game 🙂 Yes, I remember buying my first car in STT for $400.

I'm from the Battle Creek area. I lived in the Detroit area for many years and worked as a business analyst for the auto industry. Lived in the Gaylord area for a few years while my kids were in school.
