Not sure if taxi drivers taking tourists to Lindqvist is a good idea or a bad idea.
Any thoughts from those that actually live on STT?

Article tries to say Taxi association intent is force the government to get infrastructure in place at the beach, but I'm thinking it's a way to take tours there without having to pay to take them to Magens???

And more importantly - how long will that lovely pristine and un-spoiled beach remain that way if the tourists start visiting by the safari load?

Not a good thing, but St. Thomas residents didn't treat the beach very well before this.

Having only been here for 2 months I'm not really sure. My opinion of the whole island is that it's way over developed. Or maybe not over developed but it seems there's definitely a lack of planning. Bringing tourists to a new area will mean more development so I'm not sure it's a good thing.

There's no need to take tourists to new beaches. They're tourists - it's all new them. Maybe it's the taxi drivers who are bored and looking for somewhere new to go.

Anyways - where is this beach located? My husband and I are still exploring and don't know how to get to this one.

KEEP THEM AWAY!!! Please!!!! When you work with tourist all day long, it is nice to be able to go to a beach and get away from it all. Please let us keep it to ourselves!

Hello All,

Have they changed the entrance to Lindqvist? I can just see a taxi pulling over on the side of the road and tourists looking around wondering where they are. Sherry, the beach is on the North side in Smith Bay. From Red Hook take the main road Northish towards Sapphire. Pass Sapphire and look to your right and in the middle of an undeveloped area is a chain link fence about 6' or higher and a metal chain link gate with a dirt/rock road. If you see Wyndham than turn around and go back the other way. Drive thru the gate and a short distance is the beach. They may have taken down the fence or changed the road, my info is 8 months old and they have closed and reopened it since then. Anyway, it is worth the search and is hands down the most beautiful beach on STT IMHO. I don't want them to take tourists there either, but if it makes the government keep it clean than maybe it works. What do I know.
