i have enjoyed reading the information on this board and it really seems like the people who live on stx and reply are friendly and considerate. my goal is to purchase property but in the meantime can anyone recommened a restaurant to have a thanksgiving meal? In addition, if one can suggest any other places to eat on stx that has good food. Thank you...

Hello there! As I was here last thanksgiving, but it was my first year, I don't remember what was open and what was not. Here, thanksgiving is more than what it is in the states. It really kicks off months of festivities. On line, you should be able to look up restaurants in C'sted or F'sted (depending on where you will be staying). I would imagine that most have made up their minds in terms of being open or not. If then you run a few by, I can probably give you at least a personal review.

With everyone on this board, I am sure that if you are stuck at all, or just don't want to eat in a restaurant, you will have a number of open doors for that day, myself included.

I will check back in and see if you have posted any openings. As NOTHING arrived last year for months due to the hurricanes, I did a LOT of eating out for months as well!

Warm regards,

Dan

Many of the restaurants will be closed on Thanksgiving but the week or two leading up to the holiday, the Avis will have big ads for those that are. I know Carambola is always open and has a large buffet with traditional Thanksgiving food and local cuisine. In fact, most restaurants that will be open will offer some type of fixed price buffet. You should have no problem finding a nice place to enjoy the holiday.

As far as restaurants on the island. There are so many, here are only a few: H2O, Elizabeth's, Tutto Benne, Savants, Kendricks, Bacchus, Case Place, Breezez, and the list goes on. Ask about any in particular and people can give you their opinions of them. Just know that dining out is not cheap on StX, but there are many excellent places to dine. The fun is trying them out for yourself.

The Carambola Beach Resort has a fabulous Thanksgiving Day feast. You will need to make reservations there and probably anywhere else on island for the holiday dinner.
