Hello,

We are moving to St. Croix and staying at Pelican Cove until we find a long-term rental..comments?

Also..best internet and cell coverage for the island. I will be working from laptop and phone and need great connection (all day) for both. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards!

Kari

I lived at Pelican Cove for my first year on island and I loved it. It's centrally located, beautifully landscaped, and the pool/bar area is awesome. There's security all of the time and you're right near da beach! I wouldn't recommend swimming in the water, though.

I use to pirate internet from my neighbors and have always used AT&T. My cell signal was always good at Pelican Cove on the balconies.

Just my opinion
Noah

We have friends who live at the Palms @ Pelican Cove. We visit often. It is lovely, and our friends love living there. The bar/restaurant, which is part of the hotel section, is great. We go almost every week for a casual meal at the bar. Great pool, view, etc. Our friends do swim in the sea there, as well as the pool.

The very first place we stayed on St Croix many years ago was the Cormorant, now called Pelican Cove. We were always in the water there and found the beach great and the snorkeling to be very interesting. However, there are some serious cross currents (rip tides) that can upset you if you are not a confident swimmer. So be aware and do not go out alone (like I did one morning). As I remember some of the most difficult currents were west of the hotel towards Hibiscus. As a matter of fact, I think Hibiscus had just opened , it was just after Hugo.

Like you, I work with a laptop and cell phone. I get excellent coverage with AT&T around the island, and have had great experiences with Broadband VI for Web access.
