Greetings everybody! I discovered this board earlier this past week when I was doing research about the us virgin islands, and I am astounded at the wealth of information that is here. I am very grateful this forum exists!

Now, to the point of my post:

I am a 31 year old single female and I've been a theatre technician for roughly the last 15 years. Currently I'm in university to get a BA in theatre but due to some personal issues that I'm not willing to talk about right now the chances are slim that I'll actually graduate.

I'm not willing to waste my life going nowhere fast and being stuck in school when I can get work in my field. To get work, however, I've discovered that I am going to have to move out of Minnesota and somewhere where there is more work. I am trained as a stage hand and a stage manager, also an assistant director or production assistant. I don't act. I am also willing to work in a box office or other front of house position, like an usher.

Does anybody know what the job potential is for backstage production type jobs in live theatre on the islands? I know I will have to relocate within the year, and I would much rather relocate somewhere that is warm and friendly and still in the US. Help or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You should contact the Reichold Center and perhaps some of the smaller local theaters. But, based on your stated experience, Reichold is your best bet.

Good luck and whatever the issues surrounding your graduation, I hope they are resolved in your favor!

Thanks for the tip stxer!
They interviewed us but I didn't know if it would run. Any chance you could let me know what I/we said? 🙂

The vow renewal was spectacular btw, a real tear jerker!
