Therapy or Trainer Positions

My husband & I are planning to move to St. Croix in early October. I am a Physical Therapist Assistant (working in outpatient orthopaedics) & also have a BA in Physical Education. I was wondering if anyone knew of some facilities that may have part-time or fill-in positions as a PTA, or if there may be opportunities to work as a fitness trainer. I have some experience as a trainer, but am not certified.
I'm definitely open re: jobs, but thought I would check this out. Being outside, or near the water would be perfectly fine with me.

I appreciate any information you have.
Thanks & Happy 4th
Julie

Julie, definately check out all the gyms at the resorts... they often have fitness trainers at them. I had a friend years ago on St. Thomas, she worked for Frenchmans, Sugar Bay and the Westin on St. John... and would have appointment times where hotel guest would register for her classes and lessions... sometimes in the gym, sometimes by the pool or beach- she loved it. You can look up gyms in the yellow pages at http://www.viphonebook.com.. On St. Croix the bigger resorts will have gyms and fitness centers as well. Perhaps you could look into physical therapy positions at the hospital - as an assitant like you are doing now???

Good Luck.
