I'm relieved the storm missed the VI. I'm in New England and the weather has been great, a classic summer. The ocean is too cold to go in so I need a swim, bad. But all that isn't the purpose of my post. I just have to that I miss STX so much. The thing I miss the most are the people and their genuine friendliness. Here it is like walking among zombies, no greetings, no eye contact, good manners are rare.

It has been quite an adjustment. In the last 5 years I've only been off island once before this trip and that was to the north shore of Hawaii. There's a good vibe there . I'm in a beach resort area here in So maine so one would think at least the locals would be open to visitors. So strange.

I'll be back soon and the next trip I take will probably be down island. I got my reality check and I don't like it.
