Tivo will work in the VI. They have a channel line up for Innovative. The bigger issue is if Innovative will be working when you want to record something.

Also Innovative's channel line up is limited. I bummed, no Outdoor Life Network to watch lance go for his 7th TDF victory.

Hey - I also have TIVO and was wondering if it works on STT.

Jim - no OLN. that stinks. that's my favorite channel.

Oh well! I'll have to sacrifice. 🙂

Does anyone know if TIVO works on STX? While Innovative Cable provides the same selection on both STT and STX, the stations are on different channels on each island. There is only one phone number for TIVO to use in the VIs to obtain programming information, so I do not know if it can differentiate between STX Innovative and STT Innovative.

I believe that STT has DirecTV and STX has DISH network and they both have the "TIVO STYLE" DVR options, so you will mist nothing. BUT, the dishes must be purchased (unlike the US where they are free) and the costs start at around $400 up to $700....

No DirecTV in the VI; it's not licensed for sale here as yet.
Puerto Rico has it but its a different satellite dish than those in the states and a different access card as far as I understand.

Dish Network is here.

HDTV certainly isn't provided by Innovative. Their picture quality even for "digital service", particularly on the lower numbered channels is marginal. If any cable company on the mainland provided pictures and services similar to Innovative all their customers would defect to dishes. Unfortunately that isn't as easy an option in the VI given the satellites terristial footprint and the USVI being in a fringe area.

I am not aware of any satellite providers offering HDTV yet anywhere in the US. They have bandwidth constraints, but they are looking into it.

The only purpose for a HDTV in the VI is to watch DVDs.

I do not have the phone number. I got the little bit of information that I had by calling the TIVO customer service number. The service rep that I talked with was not too knowledgeable regarding service here in the VIs but was able to eventually determine that there was a phone number here for programing. This is a link to their website:
