Boyfriends coming of a 7 day work stretch and I've been sick with a bug and hoping by the weekend we will be able to do a day trip.

Anyone have a good connection/recommendation for a small charter style boat tour that does nature style trips around to some of the BVIs? Hoping for around $100ish PP for a full day and hoping for something more nature or reef inspired.

Save your $$ and plan for a 2 night trip to Gorda or Vieques. Unless your looking for some tortola wave action.

Oh yea Blu? Major waves this time of year in general? I'm looking for some lively reefs to take some photos. REALLY dying to see some dolphins too, even if just from a boat and can't get in with them. I've noticed it's been rather murky at all of the places we've been to, even Coki wasn't that clear last week.

Are there months that are better to go to Tortola and or Jost? Less wave action? We're up for anything, just want to have a little adventure this weekend.

head over to Jost and stay at Ivan's.
Surf's up northside so may not be best time for underwater photography until sea's calmed and back to undisturbed from sediment silt turbulance.

Agree to stay at Ivan's. if you're up for a hike, take the ridge to Bubbly pool when the North swells are up, great photo op. I had a friend who saw an orca from the top.

Not sure about tortola/JVD. But summer (aug/sept) are good months for a long-weekend get away to V.G. Cheeper rates and no crowds.

An orca??? I had no idea they are around these parts. That would be unbelievable!

Is there a website or some may to follow the currents and surf, to see when it's good to do some photos vs high surf?

Winter months in general the seas are rougher on the Northside. It gets murky after rain. Southside beaches are going to be calmer this time of year.

Cool, thanks everyone. I think we're gonna do something here this weekend and head over to Jost and do the Ivan's thing in the summer-early or late. Less crowds was a good point.

If you go to Jost go to my favorite bar in the world Seddy's One Love Bar!

One love is the best! I normally use See and Ski out of American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook for day trips. If you get six people together (max the boat is allowed to take) it will run you about 100 pp plus customs fees. My husband and I took several trips out over the past month and if you don't mind a bumpy ride on the way to BVI its a great trip.
