Does anybody know what requirements I would need to run a tour bus company on St. Croix?Would I need a taxi license do or do I need a bus drivers license? The bus would not have more than 20 people.I have looked but can't find any good information.I like to know what license I am looking for..

I don't have answers for you, but I do recall seeing a recent VIDN article about STT "certified" tour guides. Here's the link:

Based on this article, it looks like you should call the VI Tourism Commissioner's office for answers to your questions. Perhaps you don't have to be "certified", but they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I believe a CDL and a taxi medallion are all you'd need...but just getting the medallion is quite expensive...like $40,000...can you let us all know for sure when you find out? Thanks!

Now and then you see ads in the paper for people willing to "rent" you their taxi medallion. I'm not sure how it works, but they usually ask somewhere around $500 per month for the use. If you go that route, make sure you have a long-term lease agreement that they can't cancel to get their medallion back the minute cruise ships do start returning to the island or your business will suddenly be in dire straits just when it should be coming into its own.
