Long holiday weekend, perhaps?

Must be nice to have your trash picked up instead of giving it a scenic tour of the island before you find a dumpster on the route you must travel!

I think all trash pickup services in USVI are private, so you should call whichever company does the service. It may be printed on the garbage bin or dumpster. Or call your property manager if applicable (like at a condo or apartment complex).

From a Google search:

VIWMA Info http://www.viwma.org/Residential_Information/Solid_Waste/House-To-House_Collection_Schedules.aspx

Two private companies

http://www.cleanvi.com/contact_us.html

http://www.paradisewaste.net/contact.html

I imagine one of these is who you need to call.

At least six and likely more than a dozen on STT anyway. Don't know about STX.

I live in an area where a garbage truck comes around twice a week. I've never gotten a bill, I have no idea who the company is and we don't have any sort of neighborhood association. Is that odd?

VIWMA does do some household pickup, caribstx. That's probably what you have.
