TRW murdered last night

i heard a 50 something man was found stabbed to death in the cane bay area, i hope it was not him.

Yes, it was Troy. He was found west of Sprat Net, stabbed to death. I haven't seen him for several months, but from what I've been told, his life was not going well. What a sad end to a very troubled life!!

Troy was stabbed mutiple times. In fact stabbed way beyond what would cause death. I have seen him many times in the past weeks walking. He was almost at the dirt road to the house where he has been living for the past few months which is only about 30-40yds past Sprat Net going west. According to some tourists they saw the body along the road sometime around 8-8:30pm last night. This is truly a horrible and dispicable act by some hoodlums who were exacting revenge for something.

Oh no...this is awful...I used to love his unique and amazing self. Who would have done this terrible thing?

I was talking with some people down at Eat last night and they said that Troy had been going down the wrong path again.
I know he had been struggling with addiction for a long time.
This is so sad. RIP Troy.

trw was such a hugh presence on this forum for so long. His contributions were honest, informative, thought provoking and always entertaining. I only knew him "slightly" from his time at Paradise Cafe, and, he was quite the ambassador for STX with the tourists that came in there.

It was obvious during the last month or so of his postings that his life had changed for the worse and he was in a dark place. I'm so sorry to hear of this horrific end of life for Troy. He had some serious issues, but he had a good soul. May he rest in peace.

i am not sure who troy was...and i have lived here a long time. what did he look like and what did he do??

He was white, tended bar, last I heard he was working over by Sharkeys in Gallows Bay. And yes, the past few months he had been struggling with addiction. I had heard he was seeking treatment. If it is true he had so many wounds, could have been a hate crime, for his orientation. We will never know.

i am very sad to hear this... he is one of my facebook friends and i have not seen anything in quite some time from him.

It pains me greatly that one of "US" has been murdered.Troy was an entertaining fellow to those who let him serve them. His many postings were no less than truthful ,sobering, and many times sad to read.He told great stories and his colorful style of writing and living made you want to read more about him.This tragedy while awful,is now more commonplace than we'd like to admit.This one hits home to this board and to the readers who liked or knew Troy.Justice will probably be ...............a blank...............with the likes of this VIPD.So again we take it.Wrongs we may make still don't deserve cold blooded murder.

The vipd link Anita provided refers to Troy as a "50-year-old" male, but he turned 44 in July, and his birthday was the last time I heard from him. He was a troubled but good-hearted person, and he would be pissed about the way his life ended. I hope the vipd at least tries to solve the case.

He was a troubled ,but good hearted person like dntw8up said. I loved to hear his everyday life stories about things happening on St Croix. I was hoping, as I'm sure we all were, that he'd been able to clean up his act and live life on the island he seemed to love... Rest in peace, Troy.
