Hello All,

I am looking for feedback from others who use or have used USAA for their banking on St. Croix. Specifically I am interested in ATM access and fees, debit card usage at grocery stores, gas stations and merchants in general.

I'm fairly certain I will not need a branch location but we will see.

I've been here for 3 years with USAA, zero issues & they give back up to 15$ a month in ATM fees... which are retarded here..

you will have to call them and let them know you are here (or your card wont work and they will call you.. haha).

very easy to use, no issues aside from them wanting to make sure I was actually here at first.

Thanks for the feedback. That's what I was hoping to hear. USAA is going to be a life saver in more ways than one. The quote I received on auto insurance was about 1/4 of what I received from a local agent.

Only thing I wish they'd do down here is homeowner insurance... other than that it's great!

I use USAA for my banking and car insurance as well. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of opening an account with one of the banks on island. USAA has the mobile deposit so you can deposit paper checks. Their customer service is second to none when it comes to banking and auto insurance. I do agree with LiquidFlouride about the homeowner's insurance. That would be amazing. They also don't offer life insurance here. You can do investment accounts with them as well, you just have to fill out some actual paperwork and scan/email to them instead of being able to do it online. I have found a few ATM's on island that only charge 2.50 transaction fee but as Flouride said, USAA reimburses you up to $15/month for those fees and doesn't charge any fees of their own for any usage here.
