Are all utility poles on island WAPA's or does/did the phone company own some. I have an old pole on the corner of my property that doesn't look too stable and would like to have it removed, there are no cables attached to it but an old cut cable in the bush near it looks like a landline. Anyway to tell who owns it short of having WAPA come to the house to inspect it?

Most poles are owned by WAPA, some by Innovative and then some are privately owned. Start with WAPA and see what they say, but if they don't have lines attached they probably are not going to do anything. If the pole is on your property you may have to cut it down.

I would check with WAPA first. We had one come down in our area recently and the phone co. came out first but to replace to pole WAPA had to be called. And believe it or not it was a Saturday afternoon and they came right out. Will miracles never cease.???
