Hey all,
I'm wondering if any of you have been or are currently students at the University on St. Thomas?! I'm considering an exchange from my school in Washington to UVI but I'm having some difficulty getting the information I need online! I'm a Sociology major and I need to take Soc classes when I come. I know UVI offers several different Social Science degrees but their website shows that they have offered VERY few classes in any of those areas in the past years...not enough for anyone to get a degree in Soc. Sci. Is it difficult to find classes here?? or does the website not show everything?? I'm sorry this is such a narrow question...but I can't find anyone to help me and you all have been so helpful with everything else!!!!!

Thanks for any help!!

Amy

Amy,

UVI doesn't have a sociology major and so doesn't offer sociology classes. UVI has a social science major but social science is a much broader major and includes classes in psychology, economics, political science, Caribbean studies etc. Most students at UVI major in fields within the business, education or nursing divisions.

Hello,
I've been looking at the marine and environmental science graduate program at UVI. Did you or are you in that program? I've been considering moving to St.Thomas and establishing myself with hopes of eventually attending grad school there. Also, does the university have student housing? I wasn't able to find any info about that on the website?

Thanks,
Meghan

Meghan: I have a relative who graduated from the Marine Science program, is now in a top-notch graduate program in the states. There is student housing, but if you come from the states and hope to establish residency in order to get lower tuition, the time you spend there does not count. I believe that Islander is a UVI grad...
