Hi! I just found out today that I was accepted as a transfer to the UVI. I'm really excited, but a little bit clueless, mostly about housing. Should I live in the student housing that they have or try to find my own place? Is anyone else on the board in a similar position/looking for a roommate? Will a car be necessary? Any miscellaneous advice? Thanks in advance
Kara

Dear Kara,

STT or STX? If you google on this forum, you'll find that many of your questions have already been asked and answered and you'll be able to find a whole bunch of information relating to your situation whether you're planning on being on STT or STX. Good luck!

STT. Thanks for the advice about searching. I guess I was more or less hoping that someone looking for a roommate for next fall would see my post.

Hi Kara!

I am also starting school at the UVI this fall semester. I live in Atlanta, GA, so this is going to be a BIG move for me as well. What are you studying over there? I am also going to be a transfer student in their nursing program. I might be moving over there with my boyfriend, so I'm not sure if I will need a roomie yet or not. I am probably going to move off campus, since you can claim residency and knock down the price of tuition after the first year. You can't do that if you live in the dorms. I have done a lot of research about the islands, and have heard that a car will definitely come in handy over there. I'm not really exactly sure though, since I've never been there myself:) My boyfriend has been over there, and said that it would be a good idea to get one. Anyway, write me back at my email if you would like. I'm interested in meeting some new people from the states that will also be newbies over there! Anyway, take care!
