Vacation thoughts for STX 2009

Hi IslandTyme,
Hope you're doing well...

So, I've had about 5 different Garmins over the past 6-7 years. Each one has it's quirks. They're all generally the same, but they manage to change some things in ways that seem... just different... not necessarily better.

I might be sending my 1250 back. They've changed the map-scrolling to make it somewhat like an iPod/iPhone. You kind of sling the map to scroll. At least I think that's what's happening. But, whether I move, slow, medium or fast, I can't get the map to scroll a predictable amount, nor direction. And that's sitting in my office... imagine what it would be like in a car!!! I'm contacting Garmn to see if I have a bogus unit.

Also, my NUVI 250 displays many of the estate names on STX. I can't tell if this is from the 3rd party maps that I got, or the NUVI built in maps. But, I don't see these estate names on the NUVI1250. I've been playing around with MapSource to see if I can figure out how to get them on the NUVI 1250. No luck yet.

I hope I can resolve some of these issues... I like some of the other NUVI 1250 features.
