I am moving to STJ in April and understand that in order to save money, I would need to head out to STT at least once a month to stock up my food and domestic supply.
Can you, the nice residences of USVI suggest some value supermarkets and big box store on STT that's reachable by public bus or dollar taxi from Red Hook? Thanks a million.

You can reach Cost-u-less by the dollar rides but you will have to get a taxi back if you are in the monthly restocking mode - better to team up with a STJ resident who is bringing their car or truck over for a shopping trip.

For me, the time, $, and hassle factor of going to STT make it not worth the trip. For the things I buy, the small net savings isn't worthwhile. YMMV if you have a large family to feed.
