Veteran Choice in the VI

Jon Stewart had a segment about it. Featured a woman "living on an island" who wasn't eligible because VA Center was 38, not 40, miles away.

Another featured vet who had cancer who wasn't eligible because there was a vet dental facility with basic health care services less than 40 miles away. Dental center not the best place for cancer treatment.

VI has similar vet treatment clinics, so I guess veterans are not covered for local providers for services not provided at clinic?

Has anyone tried Veteran Choice in VI?

Vets have to get a voucher for treatment locally. Otherwise they get flown to PR and are treated there.

How do you get a voucher? Guess I'll sign up so I can be informed. Source article only a press release - no journalism scrutiny.
