I am convinced VITRAN's motto is DONT COUNT ON US

Nothing new there. If you happen to live on a designated bus route but don't have time to wait for public transportation then you need to have your own wheels.

Maybe it stands for Very Irregular Transportation.

I've ridden both the VITRAN buses and the safaris on STT and they've served their purpose (the VITRAN buses are very comfortable) but they've never been recommended for anyone on a schedule. No point grumbling about it - they is what they is and have never been touted as anything but.

I can say that the Bordeaux bus is fairly timely and a lot of folks depend on it for the morning route and if you ride it from the NW side of STT on a regular daily basis you will get to know the drivers and regular commuters and on days when there are serious problems affecting that route I know there is some kind of a communication net that spreads the word among them - Facebook? Text? But I don't know the details.
