For all you have moved here and want to get involved, come out and register to vote at the Tillet Garden Arts in the Summertime Festival on St. Thomas. The Festival itself is July 24 - July 25 from 10 AM - 5 PM. VICL will have a voters registration booth set up from 1 PM - 3PM. Bring a birth certificate (certified or original) and social security card OR US passport OR naturalization certificate. A Baptisimal Certificate can be used in lieu of Brith certificate. A photo id is handy but not necessary. Come out and have some fun and help make a difference in our community.

For those of you interested in getting your voters ID in STX ,it is very quick and easy! It took me a total of 10 minutes for them to type in the info, take picture and issue card!! It can be used to travel to the BVI's I am told instead of using passport or birth certificate. They are located in Sunny Isle between the Western Auto Store and the 2 Diamond Theatres. Remember to bring you passport or birth cert and social security card.

Yes, it can be used to travel to BVI and back as well as the mainland as it is proof of US citizenship. It can also be used as two form sof ID for an I-9 for employment (check the A & B columns). A note however - once you register to vote here you are no longer able to vote in the US unless you change your registration. This means you cannot vote for President. This is a concern for a lot of people. For those of you who want to vote here, come out to the Arts Show, register and have some fun!

Can you provide more info. on voting laws? I live in CT and am relocating to STT in August. I would like to vote in Nov./pres. election. Is this done by absentee ballot from my home state?
