hi, i have a question about w-2's and pre tax medical.

on the w-2 form there is box 1 for wages and box 12a for pre tax medical. do both of these count as your wages? or only what is in box 1.

does box 12a NOT count toward social security

any help is appreciated

Taxact.com

Download, install, answer the questions and you're done.

I use taxact.com here in CA. Glad to know I can use it when we move to STX!

Yes, it works fine. No electronic filing here but you can print out the forms. I've used it for many years. Also used Turbotax as a comparison test and get exactly the same results.
