What are we forgetting?

We will be semi-retiring to St Croix in August. We will have one pension and enough money to live on for a year. We have memorized the Settler's Handbook. :>)) We have a place to stay for two weeks while we look for permanent accomodations. I have been in touch with Tropical about shipping the cars. We have talked to a Temp agency on St Croix about temporary jobs while we find more permant part time jobs. We have set aside a fund to ship the grandchildren down once or twice a year. We have set aside a fund to go back to the mainland a couple of times a year. We have arrangements for health insurance. We have been to the island and scoped out things like grocery stores, Kmart and drugstores. We have a storage facility for some of our furniture here (in case the unthinkable happens and it doesn't work out). We have read this and other message boards virtually every day looking for other things we might have missed. Now it's starting to get close and I'm wondering what we have forgotten to plan for. Any ideas?

hi ric, have you considered buying emergency medical airlift insurance ? as i'm sure you know the hospital on st. croix leaves a lot to be desired, i think for around $125 or $175 per year per person they will take you to a hospital in miami or puerto rico in a medical emergency most people go off island for any type of planned surgery or procedures. what part of the island will you be living?
