In at least 2 post Maria YouTube videos I saw what looked like a huge pile of sand in the ball park across the road from the Fredericksted Fort beach. It looked like there were polls sticking up at regular intervals. Is that something created as part of the cleanup?

A lot of sand washed over the west end rd from the surge so it's not surprising there are sand piles as part of the cleanup. Eventually they will probably go back to the beach or perhaps screened of hazardous debris first. If you look at the post maria aerial images you see large sections of the road covered with sand.

That giant pile of dirt is for the foundation of the "sports arena".. it was pulled from back fill piles behind my house at the old Carlton hotel golf course.

Is the Carlton Hotel and/or golf course near the Carlton Estate condos? I'll be in one of those condos 12/17 to 12/24.

When finished the pile will equal the weight of the new structure. It will be monitored for several months to see how much it sinks. Building a stadium in a flood zone. Brilliant!
