Does anybody know a good public place to fly a RC plane on STX? We bought our son one as a graduation gift and while there are some a couple of fields we can think of the ones closest to us are either too close to the refinery or airport. I thought about the big area in front of UVI but I assume it's government or private property and probably not allowed there.
Does anybody have a recommendation? This is for a battery powered plane with a range of about 1/2 mile. Any hints are greatly appreciated.

They do kite flying by UVI don't see why u can't do it there....let me know how it goes...my son wants one....well ok...who am i fooling... I want one

UVI definitely. People fly RC planes there all the time.
