Where to Rent a Small Sailboat in STX

One of the things that I have wanted to do most since arriving on the island is rent a small small said boat. I've rented a Hobie cat on STJ and and small sailboat on STT. But I haven't seen anything small for rent on STX. I figured the Buccaneer or Carambola might have one but they don't. If I told you I was an amateur sailor, that would be overstating my qualifications. If it has anything more than a rudder, it's too complicated for me. If anyone can direct me to a place that rents, I would be grateful.

Try calling the STX Yacht Club.

Thank you Juanita. I found their website http://www.stcroixyc.com/ It looks like a members only for $425 single, $850 family. But maybe there's a guest membership. I'll call them though.

I wasn't even thinking about joining. I just thought someone there might have some idea where to rent a boat. Also, have you tried Hotel On The Cay? They seem to have a lot of water sports.

talk to Jones Maritime about sailing lessons. Then you might get hooked up with a few new sailors who are buying small boats for practice. It's often the case that such sailors would love to have a partner or two to split expenses with and it works out quite well for everyone and keeps you within budget. Kind of like a time share for a small sailboat.

I'm not just a Realtor, I have a Coat Guard 50 Ton Master's Captain's License, too. 😉
Oh, and I'm a PADI SCUBA Instructor.

You have got to multi-task in the islands.
