I am looking to do some shopping for home goods such as pillows, rugs, misc. furniture and am looking for advice on where to shop. I have been to Kmart but the selection was minimal. Any advice?

Well I guess that would be helpful!! I am looking on St. Thomas.

I'm also interested in learning of any stateside stores that might ship to the islands - specifically St. John. I heard Macy's and JcPenney any others?

Thanks!

Crate and Barrel

there's a whole thread about who ships here though... do a "search" for it.

Just about everyone ships here but for large items like furniture or about half of electronics you'll have to use a freight company like VI Cargo OR friends and family. 🙂 For big ticket items I look on island first then look online to see if it's worth it to ship. To me it usually is because the items are usually cheaper and of better quality, BUT I know Stt has more to offer then Stx as far as shopping goes.

Try Welcome Home across from Marina Market. They have LOVELY things like pillows, rugs, small furnishings, etc. Silk Greenery in Ft Mylner has throw pillows and other furniture and accessories. Also in Red Hook is Home Again, which is an eclectic mix of pre-owned and new. These places make shopping fun, and you could have lunch while you're out and make a fun day out of it.

Or you could take the Thanksgiving shopping ferry and do some buying in PR. Perfect timing for that!

I get all my stuff from Linensource.com They ship to STX USPS. I have ordered several items that require several big boxes and the shipping was only $21.99 Priority mail.
I have also used Domestication's. They charge way to much to ship here compared to linen source.
The company store will also ship here. www.thecompanystore.com shipping is expensive.

Ditto on the Crate and Barrel. I've gotten reasonably priced pillows, cushions, and even large rugs shipped here. Lots of selection, and they seem to envision furnishing warm weather homes as there are lots of bright, tropical prints and colors.

Best,
