We are considering a weekend trip to St John.
Who gives "local rates"?

And as much as I think I would love Maho bay - I think Id rather be closer to town.

Also - any recommendations for a day charter to the BVIs?

Thanks.

It's expensive and I don't know if you can rent it just for the weekend, but I've always wanted to stay at this apartment in Wharfside Village:

Would be great to be right there in town.

Another in-town option is Lavender Hill, http://www.lavenderhill.net/

Day charter to BVIs... there are a few. I've taken Breakaway a couple of times. They leave from Sapphire Beach on STT but I think they sometimes swing by STJ to pick up passengers. http://visitbreakaway.com/

Gallows Point Resort in Cruz Bay used to offer local rates in low season. I don't know if they still do, or if they offer it in high season.

Stormy Petrel does a nice day trip to the BVI. http://www.piratespenny.com/

But there are so many things to do on St John, if you only have a weekend, who needs the BVIs? 🙂 Lameshure is one of my favorite places on earth. Probably going to go there tomorrow, actually.

Not sure about local rates, but close to town without the bar noise: www.estatelindholm.com/
