Since before midnight last night it has hardly rained in Cane Bay. So I think it changed course somewhat. The forecasts down here come out of PR via NOAA. A lot of times they miss the forecast completely for STX. Today has been an example as was Sat 5/15 when a forecast of 100% heavy rain was to drench STX. Not a drop of rain fell that day-was sunny most of the day.

Based on the radar out of San Juan NOAA,. It appears the rain for past several hours has been staying south of STX. Actually have sun in Cane Bay.

I remember one time the f/c was for 20% chance of rain and it rained 24" in 12 hrs in Cane Bay. --Go figure.

Location, location, location. On Water Island we had 100% rain all day yesterday and into the night. I can truthfully attest to the upgraded performance of the Dish Network 119 satellite. No rain fade, and at times the rain was heavy. A great day for cisterns, but not so much for the tourists though.

Good hard rain the last few days here in the hills.
30 inch Dish 500 (both 119 and 110 single dish) and Dishnetwork signals never had an issue.
Slick installation.

It has rained off and on for the past two days here on the NW side of StX. Happy to see the breeze come back, though.

Was up on top of Blue Mountain today around 1 pm (great view) and saw plenty of rain clouds stretching across the island.

This is what is so hard to explain to vacationers. It may rain at one point and be totally clear a mile away. But for what it's worth, it'sbeen rainy and cloudy for 2 days on STX near Cane Bay.

Rough as heck out here on the east end of St Thomas. Check the satellite pictures, lots of moisture coming through.

It has been almost a constant rain for 36 hours on Crown Mt STT -- the clouds have been so low that driving is dangerous with little visibility - the cistern here is overflowing.

This tropical wave that now has been lingering for days in the VI's & PR regions is coming from the South sometimes, SW sometimes, West sometimes, This is wierd stuff in my opinion to be coming from these directions because it is fairly rare a SSW,. SW or Westerly wind to happen for several days. BTW it has rained in Cane Bay off and on all day long and is still going on tonight. NOAA out of San Juan is now saying this system will not be out of here until Monday. My HD Dish Network satillite has maintained a signal on HD channels for the most part -just a few short outages.

@lily1025 - ha ha... humidity subside? Yes, maybe sometime in October. Welcome to summer/hurricane season. Plan to sweat a lot from here til halloween. Our summer has just begun and its always about hot and humid. The trick is to adapt your ways. Get up earlier and enjoy the cooler mornings. Get your yard/hardest work done before noon. Find a shady tree and a hammock and make it your afternoon/evening rest spot. Use your fans. Cool, loose clothes. Wear a hat.

Sunshine this morning. Yippee. Our cisterns, at least, are all now full. Last nights rain was something. I'm hoping the rest of the week is blue skies with scattered sprinkles instead of more downpours.

Don't forget to chlorinate all this new water to prevent the growth of bacteria. Although my 80 something year old neighbors recently told me that they have never cleaned or chlorinated their cistern and they drink the water. Crazy, but they are spry and healthy.
