why people leave

Thanks, OT. My husband didn't want to rent, so we bought after several short visits (are you listening, Rambo?). Looks like it is going to cost us about double to get back to the states. Sometimes we are definitely our own worst enemy. HGTV is not a reputable way to visit the islands. 😛

I love all the feedback I get here.... a lot of honesty..... and that is all one can ask for. I know people are built differently, and I love hear about what everyone thinks, and their own personal experiences. Each person seems to state things I wouldn't have thought about. like the mosquitoes, when I lived in Alaska they ate me alive, we called them the "state bird"... just one of those things you have to live through to experience, or the grizzly bears tearing up your truck. so I get you...lol

so now because you say "we have crime" youre making yourself equal to the experiences in freakin new york, LA or Chicago, or Atlanta? listen....its not. point blank period. I know people that claim how florida is soooo bad. but those people have no clue what "bad" is.

So...what are you going to do?

Hate to say it but the East coast of Florida sucks... Colder water on the ocean, the sand is horrible, traffic is heavy and people are pretty nasty... In contrast the west coast of Florida is more laid back, beautiful beaches with white sand, the Gulf of Mexico water is warmed and much cleaner than the Atlantic water. Less population and in contrast with the East coast where you deal with NorthEasterners (NY, Boston, NJ), on the west coast you have mostly Midwesterners and people theatre enjoying a slower pace SNC are a lot more polite.... Did I mention that you can own guns in FL.?

Ghost Rider- I am on the west coast of Florida. Pretty good description. Beaches are so much better here! But I happen to live in a very highly populated, very high traffic and often high crime area compared to others.

Must be Tampa.
