I guess to be on the safe side, since I just purchased the new iPad, I will activate the cellular data plan.

If your cellular plan is with AT&T that would be wise to activate the data plan. If you are going to use Verizon you would need to verify that they can offer data service to you in the USVI.

several coffee shops offer WiFi - The Bistro, Namaste, Polly's...

I often use both Wifi and AT+T data though - especially when the power goes out (4 times this week) and with it - the Wifi

This made me laugh. The local cable co Innovative was running an ad that went something like this. "You don't want to mess with radio signals and WI-something or another":S

I prefer that over messing with Innovative. 🙂

If you're a member at Beeston Hill gym, they have WiFi. Their new cafe opened too, the Red Couch, and they have great organic food for breakfast and lunch (I'm not sure they got dinner), good tasting. I tried their wheat grass shot. Strong and sweet.

Can anyone add any more around St Croix?? Does Blue Moon still have open WiFi (or at least for customers)?

I can add:
Sharkey's Baitstand...

Rowdy Joe's (I think)
