Are the Xmas winds still blowing? A friend of mine who lives on STT told me that it started getting really windy about November and it is still going strong. Is this accurate?

Yes, it has been quite windy. I don't know if these winds are still considered Christmas winds.

the kite surfers love it and it sure helps keep the WAPA bills lower for people who tend to use A/C when there isn't a breeze. For those of you saying brrrrrrrr, maybe you've become Crucianized (or Thomianized?) and it's time to pull out a jacket.

They sure have been keeping me grounded a lot lately. I can handle nice steady winds but the gusts that we have had do not make for a comfortable ride in the little green helo. I was up today, winds were 16 gusting to 25. I had to set down once so a passenger could let her stomach settle.

We haven't had to use A/C since we got here in early January.

We're at about 300 feet above sea level and it's been continuously windy (gusts up to 30 knots) and cold ...... 63 degrees at night (brrrr).

Still....it's snowing in NJ and we're here.

Yeah, after 8 yrs on STX the blood sure has thinned. I grew up swimming in cold ponds in PA, Upper Lake Champlain, and Rehoboth and Dewey beaches. But it sure is "cold" this winter! However, I'm enjoying every minute of it. Summer and those hot still nights (as well as h'cane worries) will be here soon enough!
