AT&T on STX - i-phone 4S now getting Invalid Sim

So I like my old 4S because it's small. I don't want to upgrade. Suddenly this week coincidentally I start getting "Invalid Sim" messages where I have to re-start my phone a few times a day.

Anyone else having problems with AT&T and an older i-phone?

Bloody coincidental huh.

I would never own an Apple product so I can't help you on this. But, sometimes sim cards fail. Go to ATT and ask them.

I have a 4 with a SIM on ATT and haven't had that problem.

Thanks for the quick responses. If the problem continues I'll check with AT&T.

Eventually this one will cark it so I'll need to consider an upgraded phone that is still as small as my 4S or smaller. I've gotten used to having music/phone/email/text/wallet in one case.

I have an I4 as well and no issues but am on STT if that makes a difference.

Pull your sim card out, use a pencil eraser and clean up the contacts and put it back, if that doesn't fix it it's time for a new card!

They say there is no such thing as a dumb question but I'll give it a try. This sounds pathetic but I can't see how to get the bugger out. I looked at a diagram online and see where a paperclip is inserted in the hole in the sim card holder but I'm not sure if inserting it releases something or not, or if you are supposed to pry it out. Mine seem stuck.

The problem seems to have stopped for now but if it reoccurs I may need to search for more info.

Still think it's weird that it started happening right after the release of the i6, yet I refuse to succumb to the apple consumerist mandate. 🙂

your SIM card goes into a slot on the side of the Iphone 4, you must press a paper clip or needle into that hole which will raise the "sim tray" so you can pull it out.

Here, this is a much easier way to explain it, watch this 2 min video:
