I don't watch things like this because this is just another way for liberals to jerk at your heart strings. Kind of like going to a chicken farm, turkey farm, hog farm or cattle ranch. These animals aren't treated nearly as well as the performing animals and yet we know when we look at them they will not be around for much longer. Do I agree with animals being used for the enjoyment of humans, not particularly, but I'm not going to stop going to the theme part to watch them perform either. I'm also not going to stop eating chicken, beef, pork and fish.

you are whats wrong with America. Comfortable in your ignorance. The disconnect between you and your food.

No, I'm what is right about America, the free will to pick and choose, agree to disagree, care or not care. The problem with America is all the bleeding heart liberals who are rebels without causes and creating a cause to give them a reason to get up in the morning. They just can't stand someone not agreeing with everything THEY believe. Sooner rather than later, these same rebels without causes will have to make the decision between what is best for the animal and what is essential to human beings. I would rather see all that passion bottled up to cure a life threatening illness like aids or cancer.

Like I said, I do not feel compelled to try and change anyone else's opinions or views on anything, so if you are not trying to control the situation, conversation or me, I ask again, why do you feel so passionate about whether or not I care or believe in the same things you do?

"It's not ALL about CONTROL - there are people who care passionately about the plight of animals and they are not trying to control you, but they are trying to help the animals." REALLY, you sure as hell could have fooled me hahahahahahaha. I guess this is the same mentality that the liberals are using to justify changing this country to communism or at the very least socialism which is another way of controlling people.

But this has gotten way off topic, so I will leave it at that.

I feel sorry for you and you cannot even understand why...

"The Humane Society International and the World Society for the Protection of Animals have stated that they believe that "the entire captive experience for marine mammals is so sterile and contrary to even the most basic elements of compassion and humanity that it should be rejected outright."

Watch the program, if you can or care to and check out the materials and links provided, if you care to.
If just one person is swayed by these magnificent creature's plight, then it is one more than previously.

I suppose it depends on which side of the coin you are on. I believe it's a woman's right to choose what to do with her body and no government should be able to dictate or take away that right. I also don't believe the government should be able to dictate who should be able to marry whom, straight, gay or otherwise. I don't tell people how to live their lives and don't want anyone telling me how I should live mine, what I should believe in or how I should feel about certain things. I also choose blissful ignorance when it suits me.:)

he said he doesn't care about the treatment of animals anywhere, including his food. I believe the disconnect between what you're eating (the most basic and common daily practice) and where it comes from (factory farming cruelty, nutrient deficient meal) is the largest problem there is. If you can't care about what goes in your body, you sure ain't gonna care about anything else. It starts at the root.

It was thoroughly heart wrenching, especially the mother Orca's response when her calf was sold off and taken from her to be located at another facility
.
I will never buy a ticket to any of these encounters, again.
One cannot profess to "love animals" by keeping them in tiny confined pens and only be brought out for performances and then herd them back to their sterile small enclosures for the rest of their unnatural lives. Did anyone note that all of the dorsal fins of the Orcas in captivity were collapsed while those that remain free, were not?

With Dolphins, males have aggressive tendencies as well which is why they used only female dolphins to portray Flipper.
I can't even watch those shows anymore once I became aware of what goes on behind the scenes.
These creatures belong in the vast ocean with their family groups, not in the hands of billion dollar industries, for our amusement and their profit.

I was shocked at how little training that the "trainers" actually had and how the facilities such as Sea World and others blamed the deaths of their trainers on the trainers, themselves. Simply appalling.

"Orcas are highly intelligent, social animals. In captivity, they are deprived of the interactions they would normally have within their pod family structure. They often have stunted lifespans and numerous health issues while being forced to perform behaviors and tricks they would never exhibit in the wild. These impressive animals are almost constantly in motion, can dive as deep as 195 feet, and travel as far as 100 miles in a day, a range which no tank or aquarium can offer. Deprivation of natural habitat and social bonds often causes the whales and other marine mammals to display aggressive behaviors unheard of in the wild."

Established in 1964, SeaWorld is an aquatic themed park which provides its visitors with close encounters with marine wildlife like belugas, dolphins, and orcas, also known as killer whales.

According to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, SeaWorld holds the vast majority of the world's captive orca whales which appear in shows. These performances are the current cornerstone of SeaWorld's entertainment model.

SeaWorld's exploitative practices cannot be allowed to continue. Boycott SeaWorld and all similar facilities until the companies end their policy of captivity for whales and other cetaceans.

So no Marine park, no Zoo, no Circus, no Petting Farm, no 4-H County Fair exhibits,no Game Preserve, no Rodeo -- No More Cages, Tiny Confined Spaces,Sterile Small Enclosures anywhere --- I am glad my children are grown and got the chance to see those things and enjoy them before the lawmakers took over and all the animals are back in their family groups.

Yes, that's true with land based animals in some cases but no Aquarium can come close to providing the type of environment for marine mammals that they have in the wild, nor the family pod bonds. When the day is done and the performances are over it is back to small, sterile pens, day after day, after day.

BTW, If you missed seeing Blackfish on Thursday, they are airing it, again on CNN at 7PM tonight, Saturaday!
Pls. watch!
