Close encounter

I encountered a once-in-a-lifetime event yesterday.

While driving back from a horrible round of golf at the Reef I rounded one of the many corners on the east end and observed a mongoose chasing an Iguana across the road in front of me. Must have been a young iguana because it was around the same size as the mongoose. The mongoose caught the iguana and they fought right in front of me in the middle of the road, rolling over and over. I would have pulled over to watch the results but the five vehicles behind me seemed to be in a hurry and there really wasn't anyplace to stop. I kept going, figuring that, at least, one of the other vehicles would end their struggle for survival. I'll never know for sure but secretly hope the iguana won. They're vegetarians, you know.
