Anyone here been there? Live there? Thoughts?
I visited many years ago and quite enjoyed it.
We stayed at a private home which was gated and guarded, not unsusal for those days.
There are great national forest parks, fishing lodges, black sand beaches, great diving, especially out by the Gulf of Nicoya (sp) and all types of tours, trips and things to do.
It was pretty inexpensive and great food.
The driving and drivers there are pretty horrendous, however as I remember not a day went by while visiting for 3 weeks that we did not see some type of accident!
The Bay Islands off of the coast of Honduras are very nice as well but different.
