Internal Revenue Bureau. The department that you pay income taxes to.

IRS is for US Income Taxes. We use the IRS forms but pay to the IRB. Income Tax revenue stays in the territory. It does not go to Washington.

All of the territories keep their income tax revenue, and none get to vote in federal elections.

"No taxation without representation"! **

the corollary,

"No representation without taxation".

You will get it in October if you are lucky. There are still people waiting for years old tax returns.

I just got a notice from VIBR in yesterday's mail that I would be getting a refund for overpayment.................on a 2008 income tax payment. 5-6 years later........................!!!! Better late than never, I guess. I didn't realize I had overpayed. These days I use an accountant and do not overpay!

I'm changing what I claim today.. I'd rather pay, especially if its 5-6 years late... haha

or is collection on time, reimbursement delayed?

I said I got a notice that I would be getting a check. Haven't actually rec'd the payment as yet!
BTW, the interest on the refund is miniscule for waiting 5-6 yrs.
It wouldn't be that way if I owed them for that length of time.

Now that September is almost over and the tax director said yesterday that they only process returns AND in light of the fiscal crisis , has the PFC stopped issuing funds for our tax returns? I heard they had started issuing returns for those filed in April (anyone get these yet?).

Yay! That came to you 7 days after they notified you it was coming! A notification would be nice with that kinda turnaround.

I didn't even realize that I was owed money so it was a nice surprise, even tho it took a few years.
