Funny, the articles seem to think that 37 cents per kilowatt hour is the highest in the nation. They must not consider the usvi part of the nation. 38 cents per kilowatt hour is what WAPA is touting after a 30% reduction.

I wonder if VP Biden is aware of the electricity costs here? Or if President Obama aware of the electricity costs in Hawaii? I hope they remember to turn off the AC when they go out!

Just got an e-mail from a friend that relocated to FL. They have a lovely 3bed/2bath home with pool. Their electric bill, even with
A/C running or heat, is less than $100 per month. 38 cents per Kwh is way higher than the norm much less what we pay, presently.

My sister has a home in FL and they spend a few months there and the rest here. When they leave FL, they leave their A/C on in the summer months to combat the humidity. It costs them 9 cents a KWH. Bah Humbug to WAPA!

I can barely afford to run the A/C when needed in the summer. Even without A/C my bill is much higher. I am careful with my electrical usage, have water heaters on timers to run 2 hrs. a day, unplug everything when not in use, etc.

Let face it, WAPA will eventually destroy our local economy and has already forced many businesses to close and people to do without in order to pay their bills.
