I am an American originally from NYC relocating to St Thomas from Nevis (where I have lived for 8 years). Looking for two/three bedroom accomodations to call HOME. My mother stays with me during the winter months to escape cold of NYC. Good St Thomas references. Friends live on North Side (east caret bay). Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

I am trully apologetic if I offended you in any way. my intentions for stating "I am an American" is to inform perspective landlords that I am not a Nevisian and therefore, documentation to stay in the USVI is not necessary not would be a potetntial problem.
I guess my choice of words was wrong taking into account the temperment in the world today.

Thanks for your reply, and apology accepted, though none is needed. I like to think that we are all friends here and I wouldn't want you or anyone else to feel that you can't say what you mean. I just wasn't sure what you meant.
Lots of folks on island who are not Americans make GREAT tenants (I've have some tenants like this myself.) Moreover, there is tension sometimes between statesiders who call themselves "Americans" while ignoring the fact that all native born Virgin Islanders are also Americans. Minor tensions aside, though, it's a great place, and a place where I'd rather be more than anywhere else (okay, except maybe Paris, France.)
