Available July, 2013

I have a large partly furnished house in secluded upscale Estate Little Lagrange 2 miles east of Frederiksted. It has three bedrooms and two baths. The main bed's bathroom has both a toilet and bidet and there are two wash basins in each bathroom. There is a very large living room along with a kitchen and laundry room. I live on the property and all maintenance problems get taken care of quickly. There is plenty of room for parking. The main bedroom has air conditioning and there are ceiling fans everywhere. The outside air flowing through the house this high up is often all that's needed to keep the interior cool.

A washer, large refrigerator, gas stove, high speed Wi-Fi internet connection and water are included and a new fiber optic line provides TV, internet and phone services. There are also satellite TV dishes installed so you have a choice of services available but only free Wi-Fi broadband comes with the rent.

The closets were recently fitted with sliding mirrored doors replacing the old bi-fold ones seen in the photos below. A shipping container is near the driveway for extra storage. The cistern holds 50,000 gallons of crystal clear water and the house has easy open and close aluminum hurricane shutters which someone else here can help take care of for you should a storm come. The house uses solar hot water and there are many solar voltaic panels on the roof together with state-of-the-art AGM batteries and an inverter that keep the cistern pump and other essential electric things running whether WAPA lines work or not so there is always running water during short or extended WAPA outages. The house elevation is about 500 feet up facing west with unobstructed views of the ocean and Frederiksted 2 miles west as seen from the front porch, master bedroom and living room which are breathtaking. You can see photos of that along with the rest of the house at the link below. A private new asphalt road coming up the hill ends at your driveway, no other people live along it. The house is surrounded by endless acres of beautiful rain forest, some fruit trees and gardens.

Sorry about not checking here sooner. I put a price of $1450 in my craigslist ad afterwards but that's negotiable up or down depending on responses and the agreed to rent period. That is is down from the usual $1800, often people looking would bid it higher but I have to be realistic about where the economy has gone. First and last month's rent covers the security deposit

So far no one is showing interest in renting the house at $1450 so am lowering the price to $1000 hoping I can still rent beginning next month. The current tenants have a large entertainment center and other large appliances and their WAPA bill has averaged about $200 for quite some time partly due to solar voltaic backup and they get a new tank of gas for the stove about every eight months. I can send the WAPA billing history If interested. I know people are dealing with tough budgets now so want to give people an idea of what it will cost to live here. Anyone who takes the time to come see the place will appreciate what they are getting for the money.
