Anyone know of open bartending jobs? or have tips

I am planning on moving to St Thomas in a couple weeks (Sept 20th) and am hoping to find a bartending job as my primary source of income; was hoping to see if anyone has any tips.

I am going to be on the island from the 8th to the 15th to check out potential places to work as well as live, but thought I would reach out to those of you already living there for any potential advice.

Are there any bartenders out there that may be able to give me direct advice about any ways bartending on the island may be different then the mainland. And if there are any, and if your willing, could you give me a ballpark of how your tips are (is it reasonable to count on this as a primary income here?)

To everyone living on the island - in general, any tips on particularly good places to work or particular places to avoid? I figure ideally I would find a place that gets enough influx of tourists to make okay money, while hopefully being enjoyable to work at. And, does anyone know of any places that are hiring?

I have years of bartending and serving experience in fine dining as well as resort bars that get very busy and have dead periods (as I expect would be somewhat the case on the islands). I also have extensive customer service experience and have been a high school teacher for the last 8 years, so I am very dynamic and versatile.

I will be checking things out for myself but am more than open to any input I can receive from anyone and everyone. Thanks in advance

~ Dave

PS: I am also an experience scuba instructor (PADI MSDT) if anyone has any input on scuba instructing jobs as well
