Apartment and Villa Turnover Service?

I've thrown this out on here before. There are plenty of people who will clean. There are some handyman types out there. What is sorely needed is a full-service Turnover company. Is there such on St. Croix? I've not found them.

What I am needing is a team (most likely it would be a husband/wife, but not necessarily)...they come at the same time and work together to clean and repair after a tenant leaves. They need to understand the difference in weekly cleaning someone's home and turnover cleaning. For instance...the new tenant really does not want the old tenant's left over plastic wear from the Chinese take-out.

When I was in the hotel business, the biggest complaint was about other people's hair, usually in the bathroom. Everybody hates it!

I need someone who will take the screens out and wash them, do the laundry and remake the bed, and while all this is going on, the ceiling fan is getting oiled, the closet door put back on the track, any holes patched, dresser drawers that are wobbly getting fixed.

Ideally, they will have a truck and their own tools. On that truck will be some basic supplies, like chaulk, standard screws, WD 40 and NEVER duct tape!!! We actually have all that, but I'm talking about if someone wanted to start a business for themselves.

If anyone fits the bill, I need you tomorrow! PM me or email casita37@hotmail.com.

Hello

Those things you mentioned, handy man fixes but with a bit more common sense and an overall comprehensive approach, I can do. Unfortunately , I am in Colorado researching moving to St Croix this Nov-Mar 2012. I am looking for opportunities to make money , curious that someone is not filling that role, niche. I'm early in my research so don't know if I'll have a car, ability to acquire quality tools I'm used to here, etc. Let's say I did try that business model, what type of wage do you think the market is willing to pay? Here you look a job over and give a bid and work from there, I assume it's done that way in ST Croix?

So I cant help ASAP, any input is appreciated

Thank you
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I did talk to one couple who said they get $40 per hour for the two of them together. They, however, are more into just the lighter, vacation rental, turnover. I need someone who can do the deep cleaning and repair after a long term tenant leaves. Fortunately, I don't need them too often, but when I do....well, it's tough to find. I'm certain there is a need with other property owners, as well.

I am a Colorado resident who spends 6-8mos on St John and have been incontact with some of the local rental companies like Vacation Vistas and others regarding providing repairs to the villas and homes. I have done this same work in Colorado, including carpentry, marble/tile, electrical, pool maint, etc. I am looking to line up work that would keep me occupied for this 6-8 month period. Let me know if you know of any companies or management properties that would be interested.
