Have you checked craigslistvi? There are a few scams on there but they're easy to spot and it's one of the best places to check. What do you mean by a "reasonable" location? Much depends on where you work, your transportation and much more. You can also check the Island Trader which comes out every Thursday and also the Daily News - and if you're already living here you'll find many roadside signs advertising vacancies. If you're not already living here, don't take any place sight unseen ...
PS: Now I'm a little confused - your other posts have been focused on STX ...
