Yeah, it's me again! I have availability in a 2 bedroom apartment, fully furnished, bring your toothbrush, walk to Limetree, end of dead end road, safe, quiet, good neighbors, $750/mo includes all utilities, even High-speed, wireless DSL (unless he raises it due to WAPA bill going up so high..). Best part of this arrangement is that I spend half my time on STX, so, every week or ten days, you will only see me for a week or ten days...so you'd have it to yourself most of the time. Here's the view from your sliding glass door that gores out onto the deck from your bedroom (the one with A/C):

And if ya click here you can get some more pics:

Does your location make any sense for someone that won't have a vehicle?

The whole island doesn't make sense for someone with no vehicle, really, but there are dollar cabs (safaris that actually cost $2) that can be pretty reliable, ya just need to get their traveling routes so you know which one to get on...and hitch hiking is always easy, but unreliable if trying to get to class on time...and you'd need to walk up the hill to get to the main street....so you'd be sweaty for your first class...so, for ME, I would say 'no', but that's cuz I'm lazy and don't wanna walk up any hills...if you don't mind that, it's only a 4 minute walk to the main street where you could catch a ride...

And, since the island is only 3 X 12 miles, unless you are staying within walking distance to the University (and those apartments that close have been rented out for years), you will want some form of transportation....a scooter maybe? You can pick up one of those for about $1,500...same price as an island car, but very reliable and great on gas...the island car will always need attention at that price...

Since I am only on STT every other week to ten days, and I own a car and two motorcycles, maybe we could work something out until you got something of your own?

Distance isn't far...take a look at this map http://st-thomas.mclaughlinanderson.com/st-thomas-map.cfm ...I am at Frenchman's Bay, while the university is across from the airport...depending on the time of day and cruise ships in port...it could take anywhere from 12 to 60 minutes to get there by car...for example, it's take 12 minutes on a day with no ships and traveling around 10 am...and 60 minutes if there are any ships in Havensight and you are traveling during the 'peak times' (7:15am -9am & 4:30pm -5:30 pm). If you're not traveling during the 'peak times' on a day with ships, it'd probably be around 25 minutes...

I'm not sure which Island I'll be on August 5th,I think on STX, but I'm sure we'll see each other soon enough...I'm going over to STX today, gonna stay till the 23rd...which means my normal return to STX date would be around the 2nd...I can try to schedule my business for me still being around STT on the fifth, but I'd have to leave for STX directly after showing you the room....or we could just wait until I come back again...somewhere around the 11th or twelfth...(disregard my PM...)...e-mail me at marty_fredericks@yahoo.com....

Well, the island is only 3 miles wide by 12 long, so there is really nothing too 'far'....but if you check the map here http://usvimaps.com/stthomas/Map.asp you can see that the distance from the airport (UVI is across the street) to Limetree Beach (which is where I live...right by Frenchman's Bay) is only about 6 miles as the crow flies...but can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to get to depending on traffic, ships in port, time you are travelling, etc....on that map you can zoom in and out, too, so go near the airport and start to zom in...you'll see UVI...
