Hey guys and gals. I am still looking for a place to stay for one month in August. I have actually got a back up place at the moment, but it is more than I want to spend. I will be on island in July, already have the plane ticket. I am trying to stay under $1000, and as close as possible to the east end. If anyone knows of anything, or if anybody is planning a PMV for this month and might want a roommate to split the cost, please contact. Have a good day.

Hello there again! Just wanted to let you know I am still looking. So far, all the prices are more than what you would like, however something could come through any day.

Best wishes as always

a 1000 a month is very, very low except for perhaps a studio. They rent for about 1100 a mont if you sign a one year lease! Also, it is generally without utilities which can run about 200 a month.

good luck, it is far below what I can offer.

Do you need it furnished or unfurnished? And for only the month of August...correct? I may have a two bedroom, one bath but it runs 1200 plus utilities and currently is unfurnished but could possibly work that out.
Let me know

It needs to be furninshed. I am only bringing my clothes and computer with me. And 1200 is well above my price range. My "back up" is the Hibiscus Resort. They have a deal going where you can rent week to week or even by the month. For the month, it's 250 a week, or 1000/month. I don't think I can really beat that, but the guy said he should have plenty availability even by mid July. He said he would let me know if they began to fill up and that if I wanted to wait on booking that would be fine. So in the meantime, im trying to find a one bedroom under 1000 or possibly split something with someone for a month. It's no big deal, I may even go ahead and book the room before July. But I'm just giving it a shot while I have some time. Thanks for the responses so far.

P.S.- I'm moving to Croix. Sorry for not putting that in the 1st post.

Trey,

Keep on trying, there is allot of property for rent and when landlords read this they should know they have a choice....take $1000. or take ZERO! You will get an offer soon, its called competition.
Peace and welcome!

You will easily find a studio under $1000 and it might include utilites. You might have a harder time finding a large one bedroom but you can definitely find it. But you really need to be on island. This forum is wonderful, but for finding a place to live the avis(local newspaper) and word of month is the way to go. The more time you have to look usually the better deal you can find.

hello prettysmile. I am moving to STX, not STT. I forgot to put that in the first post, but it's in my other a few posts up. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Thanks for checking with me though. And good luck with your move and school. Thanks again for the other responses. I'm trying to keep my thoughts positive as the move gets closer. later folks.

Hi Trey,
It's very possible I will have my efficiency apartment available for Aug. Don't know for sure yet. It's $750 plus utilities. I assume the $250 a week at the Hibiscus includes all utilities but probably doesn't have a kitchen. Is that right? If there are cooking facilities and the utilities are included, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. It's right on the beach, and they have a small pool, plus a bar and restaurant. I've never been in one of the rooms, but the outside is pretty cute. Good luck.

Hey Juanita

Right, no kitchen at the hotel. They do have a mini fridge and microwave though. A hotel room isn't my first choice, but it's the best deal i've come across so far, and i'm sure a month by the beach in a hotel would be fun. But most importantly, I have to do what's economical. Thanks for letting me know about your place. I am interested if it stays open. I am about to PM Snapper there below you and see about that place. Please keep in touch and let me know what happens with yours. Thanks.
