to everyone,

please be aware of this seller "Deftones"
and his phone number is 847-971-7420

I had a transaction with him but we were not
satisfied with the item so we arranged for a
return since he mentioned we can return the
item. I've been trying to reach him but he
won't answer his phone.

thanks

Sometimes, you just have to go on down the road, sadder but wiser. 😉

OR....

what if we all started calling this guy/business? I think it would be much cheaper for him to refund the $ to Castillo than to absorb all the incoming phone calls...if he's using an 847 area code down here, it's got to be a cell....that can add up pretty quick. Maybe Castillo won't get his money back, but we could support him in achieving some good ole crucian satisfaction.

I'm gonna call him right now and let him know his # has been posted, and to expect a TON of calls:P

We've only heard one side of a story very short on details. I don't think harassing someone based on information given on an internet message board is fair.

Linda is right. Deftones is a friend of mine and I know his phone has been broken for weeks. This is all over $20 and a set of flippers. I wouldn't refund anyone either after they created 2 posts about me while posting my cell #

when i went to his place to returm the fins for
the first time he was talking on his phone. this
was also after a few days of me calling him
and not returning my call. that time he said he
will call me the following week. but no call so
far.

the third time i went to his place to return the
item we saw him drive home then we went and
knocked on his door which wad open. i knocked
several times but no answer.

the main reason why we wanted to return the fins
is it wont fit the diving boots. during our transaction
he said that if it doesnt work for us then he will
refund our $45 item.

this was all around 3 weeks and while we were
on costyouless last weekend we found the same
fins with snorkel for only $15. i also left a message
on his post here but he hasnt replied also.

i know its a one sided story so let deftones
speakout....

peace!

Sounds like you've invested way more time and effort to try to get $45 back than it's probably worth. I understand "It's the principle" thing, but you've spoken, you've put lots into it - just walk away and next time remember "Buyer Beware".

This is completely ridiculous...my phone has been broken for the past two weeks, and when I finally got a new phone a couple days ago, I had 6 disrespectful messages regarding the snorkel gear that I sold over a month ago!! I find this type of behavior offensive and rude. Upon the sale of the snorkel gear, I informed the buyer that he could try it out and, if it did not work for him, he could bring it back in the next day or 2 so that I would have time to resell it. Rather than calling me back in a day or 2, the buyer waited 2 weeks before requesting a refund!!! Within that time period, several other people inquired about the gear and I'm sure it would have sold within that time. Additionally, the buyer's claim that he came to my apartment 3 times is a bold faced lie!! The buyer claims that "we saw him drive home then we went and knocked on his door which wad open. i knocked several times but no answer." That is complete BS!! When someone knocks on my door, I answer it...why would I choose not to answer a knock at my door if I had no idea who was knocking?!?! In any event, I find buyer's conduct to be childish and offensive. BEWARE OF THIS BUYER!!!!!

By the way, the only reason I told the buyer that he could bring the snorkel gear back in a day or 2 if it didn't work for him was to be a nice guy...I didn't have to make such a benevolent offer but I always make an effort to be considerate to others in everything that I do. Unfortunately, nice guys finish last.

chain of events:

-bought the fins on Sept 3rd (Thu)
-called the week of Sept 7th-11th - but no answer, apparently the phone was broken
-left a message on the forum Sept. 13 but no response, here;s the link

https://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/read.php?5,119421,119421#msg-119421

-went to meet in sellers apartment for return Sept 15th (Thu) and seller said he will call me the following week since he didnt have cash that time and he was going to get paid the following

-week of 20-26 no calls and no communication from seller

-went to sellers apartment on Sep 24th but the door was closed

-went to sellers apartment on Sept 29th (Tue) and this was why i wrote ""we saw him drive home then we went and knocked on his door which wad open. i knocked several times but no answer."

so, can we still arrange to return the fins?
