Hi all,

If anyone is or knows of a Real Estate Broker who might be willing to sponsor my renewal application for my Real Estate Sales License, please PM me. I worked for Century21 and REMAX back in Massachusetts. My license expired back in June and I guess I have to take the test again. Also, like the mainland, I must have a Broker Sponsor. I'm not looking to work right now, I just want to have my license back so I can handle any business that might come my way ; ) Thanks all!

Mike

Mike - I am on STX, so my attorney-broker wouldn't be the best bet for you on STT, although he does fly to STT for court cases pretty regularly and might not rule out having a STT agent. If you aren't really wanting to work right away and don't want to have to pay monthly fees to a Realty office even when you aren't working, you might check with the STT Board of Realtors to find out who some of the Attorneys are on the island who have gotten broker's licenses. An attorney broker may not charge you desk fees and percentages of office expenses as most full-fledged realty offices do, but it would give you a place to hang your license to stay current. You still give up a percentage of sales commissions to the broker, or course, but don't have carrying costs if you only want to dabble in the industry for now.

Licenses from other states do not transfer to the USVI, so the fact that yours expired is irrelevant here anyway. Once your application for a license is approved, they issue you a temporary license and give you six months to pass the written exam to gain full licensure. Go to the department of licensing and pick up an application packet if you haven't already. Good luck!
