Care Taker Wanted on East End of STT

I have a private home on STT on one acre of land and am looking for a live in care taker. The job comes with a studio apartment and the candidate will need to provide a minimum of 8 hours a week of labor in exchange for this reduced rent.. The rent for the studio will be 300 per month, first, last and one month's security. A pet will be considered. The candidate will pay for his own use of water, electric and cable.

Now before everyone responds to ad this because they see almost free rent I want to say the following.. No candidate will be considered unless he/she has the following:

1. A cell phone, car and a valid credit card.

2. Must have a SS# and be a citizen or have a valid green card.

3. Must be able to perform the following functions:
a. Be mechanically inclined and provide proof of this. So just saying that you can do it is NOT ENOUGH.
b. Be able to perform light ground duties like mowing the lawn, keeping the grounds clean by removing plant growth etc.
c. Be able to repair basic things like plumbing, electrical, painting and small construction.
d. Be willing to sign a one years lease.
e. Clean and maintain the pool.
f. Keep records of the time worked as well as any purchases done.
g. Respond to any problem tenants may have.

4. Be drug free.

5. You must be a non-smoker on this property.

What I am not looking for a candidate is just coming down for the prime season and looking for a place to flop and this would be a cheap place to stay. I want this candidate to be a long term partner. I have no bias towards anyone.

Please respond to this request by emailing your qualifications, by the numbers above. Tell me something about yourself. What your plans are. Why you are on the island? If not on the island when will you be here? Do you have another job? Are you retired? Do you have a pet? How would you go about this job?

Candidates will be screened and then a face to face will occur on the few that make the cut.

There are things I need to know about, The studio what the grounds look like is the place well maintained now. Does the job require having to buying supplies punch out apt after tenants move out. etc.

Hey billd, Do you mind if I ask how your search went for a maint. person? I am looking for a maint. person on St. Croix. I am offering the same type of deal. I'll probably offer free rent, but I probably need more than 8 hours a week.
