The killing at Coki made the CNN by lines at 11:00 AM.

It says, more or less, Teen Tourist killed in St. Thomas, USVI

My heart goes out to those that were killed as well as the families.

I hope the person(s) that did this rot in hell! Lets see how our police department and justice system works.

Lets see how our police department and justice system works.

Perhaps this post by Jamie Cockayne's mom posted today on the St Thomas Blog may shed some light on how our police department and justice system work.

"The entire US Virgin Islands are a scary place. My son was murdered on ST John in the US Virgin Islands. It happened 3 years ago and the guilty have stood trial twice and been found guilty by not one but two juries. Jamie Cockayne was also a tourist. His killers have not been sentenced and it has been over a month since we have had any word about when or if the killers will be sentenced and go to jail. June 19, 2007 my son was stabbed to death on the streets of Love City and still there is no justice.
My heart breaks for the young ladies family. I know only too well what they are going through and what they will have to endure while going through the VI Justice system."

Shouldn't this be over in the moving forum rather than the classified? I know it's important but, hey.

For the last 6 months I have avidly been looking for information about The Islands anticipating a visit, even a move. The more I am garnering this data, from your newsprint & other media, the more I am realising that except for the area around the popular ship landings, that the rest of the Islands are dangerous and inhospitable, unsafe and unprotected... I suppose I will reconsider these Carri bean Plans and relegate myself to the shores of Florida... Oh well it was fun thinking about it.

Your "realization" makes no sense. More than 100,000 souls live in the USVI. While the recent events, and frankly, police protection in general, is troubling, rest assured that most of the 100,000 are living their lives, raising kids, working, etc.
