I bought the 4Runner in 2005 in Mobile Alabama right before we came here because Hovensa would pay to move it and we knew the cost of cars on St Croix was higher than the states. I wanted something with high clearance and a smooth ride on these bad roads. I love the SUV. I’ve never had a single problem with it. I just don’t want to have to pay the steep price to move it off island unless I have to.
In regards to maintenance I have had regular oil changes and in June I got a tune up because I had been here 5 years and my ex told me it was time to do it! 🙂 I bought two new front tires in November 2011. It does not have 4 wheel drive but haven’t gotten stuck yet.
I am in Queens Quarters. I don’t have the exact date yet when I’m moving but I’m pretty sure it will be in February. I’m hoping to be able to use the 4Runner until I leave.
